The curfew continues. Mosques are empty. Forty unarmed protesters have been killed by security forces in the last few weeks. Separatist leaders are being detained. Nightly raids are being carried out. All this in the so called largest democracy in the world called India. How long will they continue to oppress the people?

The international community has so far remained largely silent. Where’s the condemnation? Where’s the uproar about the violation of human rights?

The UN made a token statement and called for investigations into the killings. India replied by saying UN’s comments were “unwarranted” and “irresponsible”.

The hypocrisy is ridiculous.
