Help Nominate Abdul Sattar Edhi for Nobel
Taken from the EDHI Foundation Website:
“I had accepted at the outset that charity was distorted and completely unrelated to its original concept. Reverting to the ideal was like diverting an ocean of wild waters. Another major obstacle in the promotion of welfare was exposed…the disgust of man towards mankind. There was only one expression, one reaction from everyone…cringing.”
Edhi
Abdul Sattar Edhi does not need an introduction in Pakistan. He is the most active philanthropist in the country. He has built the largest volunteer ambulance service in the world. He runs his organization without accepting donations from the government or religious organizations. His accomplishments are too numerous to list here. If you don’t know him, you can read more about him here, here and here. Please visit the EDHI Foundation web site and sign the petition to help nominate him for Nobel.
Recently I read some excerpts from his autobiography. I was so impressed that I will be ordering the book from Pakistan as it is not currently available from Amazon.

There is also an online campaign promoted by some Pakistani bloggers to sign a petition requesting Edhi’s nomination for the Nobel peace prize.
